Special Orientation for Fashion Design Students

Amanda Lovell and Vikki Nulman did a fantastic job in facilitating the first attempt at a two day Fashion Orientation.

The highlight experience at the end of the first day was the students’ creation of “dresses,” from Art Institute of New York City branded materials.

Groups of six students worked for one hour on their creations. The top four dresses received awards, and were displayed in the gallery. On day two, there was an awards reception. Later, Fashion Design students got an introduction to the sewing labs, sketching and concept boards, while Fashion Merchandising and Marketing students toured SoHo, and receive an introduction to trend forecasting and the creation of trend boards.

According to Vikki, “there is a whole lot of bonding going on too, an important point of the orientation session.”

The first photo, the "Starbucks" entry, came in at number one.
