Congressman on Our Side!

Brooklyn Congressman Edolphus Towns (the 67 Livingston district) visited our school on a fact-finding mission concerning the proposed Gainful Employment rule. He seemed impressed by what he saw, and later wrote a piece in The Hill in support of career colleges.

Of the Department of Education’s rationale for the proposed Gainful Employment rule he says, “I agreed with this line of reasoning early on and initially supported the rule. However, after visiting several career college campuses and hearing stories of young people who believed these colleges afforded them their only chance to improve their knowledge and skills and get a better job, I decided we needed to take another look at the gainful employment rule.”
